Rescue operations continue for the sixth day after flash floods devastated the border area of \u200b\u200bNepal and Tibet, and the death toll has reached nearly 800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BBC Nepali in Kathmandu has spoken to people who are putting up pictures of their missing loved ones on the hospital wall in the hope that some trace of them may be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, rescue workers at the Trishuli 3A hydroelectric project have succeeded in making a hole large enough to enter and start searching for survivors, but so far no answer has been received from inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 2,500 people are still missing, and hundreds of them are believed to be workers working on Nepal’s hydroelectric projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The missing include foreign nationals from different countries of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amid the devastation and loss of life, there have been reports of some rescues and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The official death toll in China-administered Tibet is 16, while 546 people are missing. About half of them are believed to be foreign nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities in Shigatse say rescue teams have not found anyone alive so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, according to Nepal\u2019s Ministry of Education, at least 19 schools have been affected in the three districts worst affected by the floods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the ministry, at least nine schools have been completely destroyed and seven others have been partially damaged, while teachers and students have been reported missing in several educational institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the latest assessment report by the Ministry of Education and Sports, more than 200 students are missing, while about 20 students have been swept away by the flood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most of the severely affected schools are in Raswa and Nawabkot districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several schools in these two districts, where 2,425 students were studying, were either submerged in floodwaters or buried under debris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A school official said that \u201cthe flood even swept away one of their school buses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
