According to sources, during a telephone conversation with President Trump, the Saudi Crown Prince emphasized the need for direct US military intervention, describing the Houthis’ escalating advance as a major threat to global trade and Saudi oil exports. Nevertheless, President Donald Trump and the Washington administration have decided to clearly refrain, for the time being, from direct involvement or launching attacks in the Yemen war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Trump confirmed that he had spoken with the Crown Prince, while the Houthis had also contacted the US administration to request that the United States not intervene directly in the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
US officials state that while Washington will not directly participate in the war, it will continue to provide defense and security cooperation to Saudi Arabia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Intelligence and technical support will be provided to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Approximately 200 US military personnel are already stationed in Saudi Arabia, performing non-combat and defensive support roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The US administration’s current top priority is to remain focused on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz to prevent the opening of a new front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Yemeni sources, the Houthis have fully seized control of Perim, a crucial island located in the middle of the Bab al-Mandab (Gate of Tears) strait. This advance and the resulting influence over the Red Sea shipping lane have led to a significant rise in global oil prices, with the price of diesel in the United States exceeding $6 per gallon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
