The Islamabad High Court has restrained authorities from taking action against the petitioners\u2014who include PTI Islamabad leaders Malik Aamir Ali and Shoaib Shaheen, among others\u2014regarding concerns over alleged harassment and potential arrests ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march scheduled for September 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is pertinent to note that the PTI has announced a long march towards Islamabad for September 27 to demand the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the supremacy of the Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas heard the petitions at the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the hearing, Shoaib Shaheen argued that a wave of arrests and raids has once again begun ahead of the long march. He stated that raids are being conducted on the homes of PTI workers, and their family members are also being harassed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shoaib Shaheen claimed before the court that, in addition to the seizure of household goods and cash during these raids, women and children are also being taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that he could present affidavits and CCTV footage to substantiate his claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Case registered against over a dozen workers for ‘violating Section 144’ during Sohail Afridi’s visit to Lahore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this juncture, Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas remarked that the SSP (Operations) Islamabad would be summoned to provide an explanation, and an appropriate order would be issued. The court adjourned the hearing after summoning the SSP Operations Islamabad in person and ordering that the petitioners and other concerned individuals not be harassed or arrested.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
