Deposed Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid has called the general elections being held under the interim government in Bangladesh a drama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheikh Hasina said that the elections held under the interim government of Muhammad Yunus are actually a \u2018planned spectacle\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She wrote in a statement issued on the social media platform of her party Awami League that \u2018the people\u2019s right to vote, democratic values \u200b\u200band the spirit of the constitution were completely ignored. There was no transparency in this fraudulent election conducted without the Awami League and without the voters\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheikh Hasina claimed that voter turnout was negligible at most polling stations across the country by the morning of February 12, she said, adding that the extremely low voter turnout is clear evidence that the people have rejected this election conducted without the Awami League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He demanded the cancellation of these elections and said that free and fair elections should be held in the country under an impartial caretaker government in which everyone would have the freedom to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that Sheikh Hasina Wajid had abolished the provision of holding elections under a caretaker government through a constitutional amendment during her tenure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
