Kashmiri lawyer Nabila Irshad\u2014who had been arrested by the army in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and subsequently went missing\u2014has been transferred to jail on judicial remand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad has ordered that Nabila Irshad, Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party, be sent to jail on judicial remand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain issued this order during the hearing of the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nabila Irshad had been arrested a few days earlier on suspicion of participating in a protest held at Islamabad’s F-10 Markaz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her lawyers maintain that she was not even present in Islamabad on the day of the protest; a bail application has also been filed on her behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court has issued a notice regarding the bail application and adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
