A police station in Balochistan has been destroyed by an explosion, while a commissioner has been abducted by armed individuals.

In the Yak Mach area of Chagai District, unidentified armed men blew up the police station building using explosives, reducing the structure to a pile of rubble.

According to police officials, the incident occurred around 4:30 AM today. The armed men took control of the police station, planted a large quantity of explosives, and detonated them—likely using a remote control or a timer.

Authorities state that there have been no reports of injuries or loss of life.

Following the attack on the police station, the armed men also targeted and completely destroyed several security cameras installed in the Yak Mach bazaar, sparking widespread fear and panic throughout the area.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident; however, pro-independence Baloch militant groups are known to be active in this part of Chagai District.

It is worth noting that this region—along the Quetta-Taftan trade highway—has previously been the site of attacks targeting military and commercial traffic.

Separately, on the key highway connecting Kharan District to Quetta, armed individuals set up a blockade and allegedly abducted Asadullah Kakar, the Commissioner of the Rakhshan Division.

The incident took place in the Barshonki area while he was traveling to Kharan to assume charge of his new position. In recent times, there has been a marked increase in the influence, reach, and control of pro-independence Baloch armed groups across Balochistan, effectively resulting in the complete collapse of the so-called ‘government writ’ in most parts of the province.

The movement of armed individuals on highways and the detention of key government officials serve as evidence that the state machinery has failed entirely to gain control over the realities on the ground.

It is worth noting that several civil administration officers have been abducted in the recent past; they were subsequently released on the strict condition that they would refrain—at the behest of the Pakistani military—from acting against the public interest or advancing the state’s agenda.

Pro-independence circles and observers of the ground situation maintain that if state forces wish to engage, they should come forward themselves to face direct resistance, rather than utilizing civil administration officials in a conflict or deploying them in ways that harm the public interest.

The abduction of the Commissioner of the Rakhshan Division is seen as part of this ongoing pattern, further deepening the military and administrative crisis in Balochistan.

No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
