In Pakistan-administered Kashmir, the people of the region remain united in pursuit of their demands, even four months after the ‘Awami Huqooq Tehreek’ (AHT)\u2014or ‘People\u2019s Rights Movement’\u2014was declared an outlawed organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday, thousands of people\u2014including women and children\u2014attended a conference organized by the AHT in Kothian, located in the southern part of Bagh district. Participants expressed their firm resolve to continue the struggle for their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Core members of the AHT were also present at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to the demands for public rights and pledged to sustain the movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the organizers, the large turnout\u2014despite the movement being outlawed and facing state-led crackdowns\u2014demonstrates that the demands for public rights in the region remain very much alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference in Kothian took place amidst an ongoing debate regarding the legal status of the ‘Awami Huqooq Tehreek’ and the legitimacy of its demands within the region.
