Police in Pakistan\u2019s capital, Islamabad, have registered a terrorism case against 55 individuals \u2014 including seven Members of Parliament affiliated with Pakistan Tehreek\u2011e\u2011Insaf (PTI) \u2014 on charges of staging a protest in the Red Zone and issuing serious threats to police personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case was filed at the Secretariat Police Station on the complaint of a police officer, and it includes sections related to anti\u2011terrorism laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the FIR lodged by Muhammad Ishaq, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sangjani Police Station, he was on duty on 15 February in front of the Parliament Lodges and Parliament House, where seven PTI parliamentarians, along with other workers, were holding a protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complainant states that when police instructed them to stop, the protesters not only issued severe threats but warned that anyone attempting to obstruct them \u201cwould not leave the area alive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FIR further alleges that the protesters numbered around 50\u201355, and several among them were carrying firearms, sticks, and other objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, police have presented four individuals arrested for protesting outside Parliament House before an anti\u2011terrorism court, which has granted a five\u2011day physical remand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
