Islamabad \/ Kashgal News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A significant breakthrough has been made on administrative matters between the top police officers and the government in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to sources, six Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Jammu and Kashmir Police held an important meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, in which they conveyed their concerns regarding the new leadership of the police department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to sources, in the meeting, the DIGs were of the view that the recently appointed Inspector General (IG) is about ten years junior to them in terms of police service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officers termed this situation as against the service structure and traditional seniority principles and said that this decision could affect professional harmony within the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DIGs informed the Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister that ignoring the principle of seniority is likely to have a negative impact on the morale of the force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that he did not consider it appropriate to work under a junior officer, so the matter should be reviewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources say that the Prime Minister listened to the officers\u2019 position patiently and assured them that the matter would be reviewed and a decision would be taken as per the constitutional and legal requirements. He stressed that discipline and public service are the top priority in the police department, hence any dispute would be resolved amicably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, no official announcement has been issued regarding this meeting at the official level yet, however, informed circles are linking this development with important administrative changes in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eyes are focused on further developments and it is being expressed that a clear government position on this issue may emerge in the next few days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
