Kashgil News<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Nations migration agency, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), revealed in its latest report released on Thursday that at least 7,667 people died or went missing on various migration routes around the world last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the organization, this number is based only on registered incidents and the actual deaths could be much higher, as many accidents go unreported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report states that this number is lower than in 2024, when about 9,200 deaths were recorded. However, the organization says that despite the decrease, these figures clearly reflect the global scale of the crisis facing migrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agency\u2019s director-general said in a statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe continued loss of human lives on migration routes is a global failure that we cannot normalize.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report warns that factors such as reduced funding for aid organizations, crackdowns on humanitarian NGOs, and limited access to data are making it more difficult to accurately monitor and record deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization has urged the international community to expand safe and legal migration routes, increase resources for relief efforts, and prioritize the protection of migrants to prevent the loss of precious human lives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
