The head of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has accused US broadcasters of broadcasting \u201cfalse and distorted news\u201d during the Middle East conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr criticized \u201cfake news\u201d in a social media post on Saturday, warning that broadcasting licenses could be revoked if the media industry does not \u201ccorrect its behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carr said: \u201cBroadcasters have to act in the public interest and if they do not, they will lose their licenses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His post was accompanied by a message posted by Trump on Truth Social in which the US president complained about \u201cmisleading\u201d and \u201cvery bad reporting\u201d during the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to CBS News, the BBC’s US partner, Carr said: “People have become accustomed to the idea that a license is some kind of personal right and no matter what you do, your license won’t be taken away.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
