Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar says that direct talks with Iran have helped Indian ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview with the Financial Times, Jaishankar said that two Indian-flagged gas tankers were allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday in talks between New Delhi and Tehran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that some results have been obtained from the talks with Iranian officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that India imports about 60 percent of the liquefied petroleum gas used in homes. Of these, 90 percent of the supply comes from Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Most of this fuel is transported through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
