According to Iranian state television, the missile attack on the southern Israeli city of Dimona was a response to Iran’s attack on the Natanz Nuclear Facility. Dimona is located in the Negev Desert, where Israel is believed to have a major and undeclared nuclear facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said the Natanz enrichment complex was targeted in the morning, but initial reports did not confirm the release of any radioactive material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, according to the AFP news agency, the Israeli military confirmed that an Iranian missile hit a building in Dimona directly, injuring at least 39 people. The injured were transferred to nearby hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Israeli officials added that they had previously targeted an alleged nuclear facility in Tehran, which they said was linked to Iran\u2019s ballistic missile and nuclear programs. According to the Israeli military, the facility was located inside the Malek Ashtar University of Technology, which is considered a sensitive institution under the Iranian Ministry of Defense and is subject to international sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
