Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, has told Saudi Arabia that the time has come to withdraw American forces.
In a post on X, Araqchi said Iran “respects” Saudi Arabia and considers it a “brotherly country”.
He said that Iran’s actions are “against the enemy who respects neither Arabs nor Iranians.”
Along with his statement, Araqchi also posted a photo of what appears to be a crashed plane with US Air Force markings on it. “Just look at what we did to their Air Command,” he wrote.
US Central Command has not yet publicly commented on the incident. The BBC has been approached for comment.
