After Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif announced to provide free facilities to the citizens in view of the energy crisis, important steps have also been taken in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, for public relief.
According to sources, it has been decided to include about 450 private Loader Suzuki vehicles in service to provide travel facilities to the citizens in Muzaffarabad. This step is being taken in the context of increasing transport problems and fuel crisis so that the people can get cheap and quick travel facilities.
Loader Suzuki vehicles have been used as public transport in Muzaffarabad for a long time. Interestingly, these vehicles also have a regular government permit as a passenger vehicle, under which they provide travel facilities to the citizens on various routes.
According to experts, this measure may temporarily reduce public problems, but in the long term, there is still a need for an organized and safe public transport system.
In the situation created by the energy crisis, the launch of private Suzuki services in Muzaffarabad has emerged as an immediate relief measure, which will provide temporary convenience to the citizens, however, a comprehensive transport policy seems indispensable for a permanent solution.
