Delay in water tank project in Gilgit-Baltistan, strong public protest, highway closure

Public protests are ongoing in the long delay and alleged corruption in the water tank project in the Hinochal, Haramosh areas of Gilgit-Baltistan under Pakistan administration.

Protesters expressed strong reactions and blocked the main highway, due to which traffic movement was suspended.

A large number of men and women participated in the protest.

Protesters say that due to unnecessary delay and mismanagement in the construction of the water tank, the area is facing a severe shortage of clean drinking water, which has increased the problems of the citizens.

Locals have demanded that the water tank be repaired immediately and the project be completed quickly, while strict action be taken against the elements involved in the alleged corruption by conducting a transparent investigation.

Protesters have warned that if their demands are not implemented immediately, the scope of the protest will be expanded further.
