KNM leader and Awami Action Committee Gilgit-Baltistan General Secretary in Pakistan-administered Gilgit-Baltistan has strongly condemned the alleged illegal arrest of Advocate Taaruf Abbas, saying that he had a transit bail from the court until May 7, 2026, yet the arrest by the police is a clear violation of court orders.
He said that such actions by law enforcement agencies are not only against constitutional and legal requirements but also affect the public’s confidence in the justice system.
The leader said that if court orders are not respected, the concept of the rule of law will weaken.
He demanded that the relevant authorities take immediate notice of the incident, take action against those responsible and ensure the rule of law at all costs so that public confidence can be restored.
