The violent incidents that took place in different areas of Balochistan on the same day have raised serious questions about the security situation in Balochistan. In three separate incidents that took place in Mastung, Jhal Magsi and Harnai, two people were killed, five personnel were rescued, while four people, including a police officer, are still missing.
In Ghancha Dhori near Lak Pass, a border area of Mastung, unknown motorcycle-borne gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on Inamullah Shah Mashwani, an employee of the Chief Minister House Balochistan, and his brother Faridullah Shah Mashwani, killing them both. According to the police, the two brothers were going to Quetta from Panjpai when the assailants ambushed the vehicle and targeted it and fled. The bodies have been shifted to the hospital and evidence has been collected, while a search operation is underway in the area.
Meanwhile, five police personnel who were abducted during an attack on a police check post in Gandawah area of Jhal Magsi on Thursday were released late last night. However, no details were released regarding the identity of the attackers or the method of their release.
The police SHO and three others who were abducted by armed men in Harnai on the same day are still missing, which is causing serious concern in the area. The families of the abductees and tribal elders have held a press conference and demanded the government and security agencies for their immediate and safe recovery.
