7.47 million animals were sacrificed across Pakistan this year, Tanneries Association

The Tanneries Association has released the figures of sacrificial animals on Eid-ul-Adha this year.

According to the Tanneries Association, 7.06 percent more animals were sacrificed on Eid-ul-Adha this year. The association says that 7.47 million animals were sacrificed across the country, while 6.977 million 565 animals were sacrificed last year.

The Tanneries Association said that this year 2.75 million cows and bulls were sacrificed, 4.2 million goats, 5 million sheep and 25 thousand camels were sacrificed.

According to the Tanneries Association, this year the price of bull and cow skin was Rs. 2,200, goat skin was Rs. 600, sheep skin was Rs. 100 and camel skin was Rs. 2,000.

The Tanneries Association says that the total value of the hides was Rs 8.67 billion.
