Islamabad Police Officer Fired for Refusing to Report to Duty in Kashmir

An Islamabad Police officer who refused to report to duty in Pakistan-administered Kashmir has been fired.

A spokesperson for the Islamabad Police has also confirmed the firing.

The order issued in this regard states that Constable Ahmed Ali was summoned for duty in Pakistan-administered Kashmir for the elections to be held next month.

The order states that despite being summoned to the police headquarters, Constable Ahmed Ali did not report for duty and refused to go to Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

According to Islamabad Police SPO Owais Ali Khan, the constable has been fired for his unprofessional conduct and dereliction of duty.

It should be noted that elections are scheduled in Pakistan-administered Kashmir next month, but the Joint Action Committee has already called for a protest there on June 9 and the situation there is tense.
