The Revolutionary Communist Party has expressed deep grief and anger over the firing, crackdown and recent killings by Pakistani security forces on the ongoing sit-in in Shujaabad area of Pakistan-administered Kashmir and has strongly condemned this state oppression.
The party has termed the violence on the unarmed working Kashmiris present at the Pothi Makwalan and Kotidi Wale sit-ins as cruel and expressed full solidarity with the People’s Action Committee Kashmir with the resolve of “One’s sorrow, all’s sorrow”.
It should be noted that last Thursday morning, the security forces had tried to enter Rawalakot city from the Bagh side, however, tension arose when the participants of the sit-in did not give way and as a result of the firing and crackdown by the forces, the death toll has reached 3 including Wajid Siddique (resident of Shujaabad), Nasir Nazir (resident of Makhiala) and Mustafa Rahim (resident of Bhata Singhar South Bagh) who succumbed to his injuries, while several people were injured.
Due to public resistance, the forces could not enter Rawalakot city and had to return.
The Revolutionary Communist Party has taken the position in its official statement that the ruling class and its system have completely failed to solve the problems of the working people. That is why the working people of Kashmir must intensify the struggle against this cruel system and solve their own problems by seizing power.
The party, while giving a message to the Kashmiri people, said that we want to send a message to the working people of Kashmir that they are not alone at all in this difficult time and we reiterate that the message of their struggle will be taken to the young students and working people living across the length and breadth of Pakistan.
At the end of the statement, the party reiterated its traditional ideological slogan and said that working people of the world should unite.
