The death toll from the ongoing sit-in in Shujaabad area of Pakistan-administered Kashmir rose to 3 on Thursday morning, while several people were injured.
According to sources, the forces tried to enter Rawalakot city from the Bagh side, but the sit-in participants did not allow them to cross the sit-in. After which tension arose between the forces and the protesters and a firing incident took place during the operation.
Sources say that several people were injured as a result of the firing, who were being shifted to the hospital, in which two people died on the way. They were identified as Wajid Siddique, a resident of Shujaabad, and Nasir Nazir, a resident of Makhiala.
Now there are reports that another injured person has succumbed to his injuries, who has been identified as Mustafa Rahim, son of Abdul Rahim, a resident of Bhata Singhar, South Bagh.
According to sources, during the forces’ crackdown, due to public resistance, the forces were unable to enter Rawalakot city and had to return.
