Retired officers of Pakistan’s bureaucracy have been revealed to be receiving pensions in foreign currency abroad.
According to sources, 33 senior retired officers are receiving pensions in foreign currency after being transferred abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has presented details regarding retired officers residing abroad in the Parliament.
According to the document, 33 officers who retired from various government departments are currently residing abroad.
The government pays Rs 342.1 million annually to officers receiving pensions in foreign currency, and the Government of Pakistan pays them pensions in the relevant foreign currency.
The Government of Pakistan also pays pensions in local currency to officers living in many countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not have the data on retired officers receiving pensions in local currency.
