On the orders of the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, a notification has been issued for the restoration of full internet service in four districts and partial internet service in four.
However, internet services will remain completely suspended in the tense areas of Sidhnoti and Poonch for the time being. It should be remembered that these are the areas where the protesters have staged a sit-in.
According to the notification issued by the state home department, broadband and Wi-Fi internet service will be restored in Muzaffarabad, Jhelum Valley, Bagh, Kotli only for educational institutions (schools, colleges, universities).
Along with this, the heads of educational institutions and bank branch managers have been directed to submit an affidavit according to which it will be ensured that the internet connection will not be used against the interests of the state and national security. Apart from this, internet connections will not be allowed to be used against public order.
According to the notification, internet service has been completely restored in Mirpur, Bhimber, Haveli and Neelum Valley.
Lipa Valley also got full service, while internet service in Sidhanoti and Rawalakot remained completely shut down.
It should be remembered that public protest has been going on in Rawalakot for the past three months.
