Islamabad Kashmir protest case: 73 arrested persons released from Attock jail after 40 days

Out of 95 persons arrested in the Kashmir protest case, 73 persons were released from Attock jail after about 40 days.

The released persons include three women, including anchor and student Azra Alam, student Safiya Alam and their mother.

According to sources, the process of releasing another 22 persons is also underway, however, due to delay in issuing the arrest warrant, they could not be released from jail immediately.

According to authorities, the release of the remaining persons is expected tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

On the other hand, the families of the persons participating in the protest say that several persons were arrested by raiding their houses and hostels at night.

It should be noted that there have been continuous demands from the families and various quarters for the release of the persons arrested in Islamabad in connection with the Kashmir protest.

Protests have continued in Kashmir for the past three months despite the oppression, direct firing and killing of more than 100 people by Pakistani forces.
