Reports indicate that the district administration in Muzaffarabad—the capital of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir—has sealed more than 20 shops that had been closed in protest to support the Action Committee’s demonstration.
According to sources, traders had kept their shops shut in solidarity with the Action Committee’s protest; subsequently, the district administration sealed the shops during an enforcement operation.
The district administration has not yet issued an official statement regarding the action. There are concerns that the situation between the traders and the administration may escalate further following the sealing of the shops.
This report will be updated as further details regarding the incident and the administration’s stance become available.
