Significant Development in Shaukat Nawaz Mir Case: Petitions Accepted, SHO Dhirkot Summoned

In the writ petition “Shaukat Nawaz Mir vs. Azad Government” in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Justice Chaudhry Khalid Rashid of the High Court of Azad Kashmir has announced a reserved verdict on three applications filed in the case.

The court accepted all three applications submitted by the petitioners and issued significant directives.

According to the court’s ruling, permission has been granted to substitute Shaukat Nawaz Mir’s sister with his brother as the petitioner. Furthermore, the court has ordered the submission of the video of the arrest as evidence.

The court has summoned the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Dhirkot police station, Raja Sohail, to appear in person. Additionally, it has been ordered that the video of the arrest—contained on a USB drive—be made part of the judicial record; the court may also order a forensic examination of the video, should the need arise.

These court orders in the Shaukat Nawaz Mir case are being viewed as a significant development in the legal proceedings.
