In a statement, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the British foreign intelligence service, MI6, has been added to its list of “hostile” groups.
According to the statement, this decision was made based on a resolution by the Supreme National Security Council and in response to actions taken by the British government.
The Ministry further announced that the British Navy and the Royal Air Force have been added to Tehran’s list of terrorist organizations.
This measure has been taken under Iran’s “Counter-Action Law,” which was enacted in response to the United States’ decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
Iran has cited the UK’s military cooperation with the United States and Israel during wartime as one of the reasons for this decision.
According to the statement, these decisions were made in accordance with the principle of “reciprocal counter-action” and with the objective of “safeguarding national security and interests.”
