Pakistani Kashmir: JKJAAC meeting, declaration issued on important issues including elections

A declaration was issued after the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) meeting in Bagh district of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, in which several important points related to the political, social and administrative situation of the region were raised.

According to the declaration, the upcoming elections were discussed in detail in the meeting and the participants were asked for their opinions regarding the electoral process, which will be discussed in the core committee meeting.

The meeting condemned the FIR registered by the National Cyber ​​Crime Agency (NCCIA) against a core member of JAAC, Shaukat Nawaz Mir, in the past few days and termed it as a tactic of political pressure.

The declaration further said that the names of the youth of Pakistan-administered Kashmir included in the Exit Control List (ECL) and other restriction lists should be removed immediately.

The meeting also demanded an end to prolonged power load shedding and improvement in the quality of flour.

The meeting condemned the arrest of the leaders of the Gilgit-Baltistan Action Committee and demanded their immediate release. In addition, it expressed concern over the poor quality of internet service and stressed on its improvement.

The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee reminded the government of Pakistan and the Azad Kashmir government of the previous agreement, saying that it included a clause for the cancellation of all political cases and FIRs, which could not be implemented.

The statement condemned the sentence given by India against Hurriyat leader Asia Andrabi, while also terming US actions against Iran as a threat to regional peace.
