Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said during a press conference in Tehran that ‘Iran had submitted its 10 points regarding the talks, which were also discussed in Islamabad.’
He said that ‘the Strait of Hormuz was safe before the American and Israeli attacks.’
According to the spokesman, the US took the position that the ceasefire in Lebanon was not part of any agreement, even though Iran had provided clarification to the Pakistani mediator in this regard.
He said that “the US imposed a naval blockade and attacked an Iranian ship, which is a violation of both the ceasefire and international law.”
The spokesman added that “the US violated the negotiations twice, attacked Iran, targeted Iranian citizens and attacked infrastructure.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that “the US is playing a blame game against Iran.”
He said that “this process continues even when they should have played a positive role.” But we cannot expect the Americans to tell the truth, they always accuse us.
The spokesman added that “it seems that the US is not at all serious about negotiations and peace.”
It should be noted that this statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry has come at a time when a US delegation is going to Islamabad for talks with Tehran and Donald Trump has warned that if Iran does not accept the US’s “fair and reasonable” offer, he will destroy all its power plants and bridges.
Tensions between Tehran and Washington increased once again when US troops attacked an Iranian-flagged ship in the Persian Gulf and took it into custody.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai has said that his country has no intention of participating in the second round of talks with the US in Pakistan at the moment.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, the spokesman said that “the US has not learned any lessons from past experiences and such an approach can never yield positive results.”
He further said that “the US violated the ceasefire agreement from the very beginning of its implementation and we had informed the Pakistani mediator about it.”
Esmail Baqai said that “the US violated the ceasefire agreement by imposing a naval blockade. We cannot forget the US attacks during the previous talks.”
He said during the press conference that “we will continue to defend our national interests. If the US and Israel want to launch a new aggression, our armed forces are ready for it and they will respond appropriately.”
