Yasin Malik case: Important development in Delhi High Court, hearing adjourned till July

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reiterated its stand against Yasin Malik in the Delhi High Court, stating that he used his connections with the top leadership of Pakistan to promote the secession of Kashmir.

During the court hearing, the NIA claimed that Yasin Malik not only used his connections with the Pakistani Prime Minister and President but also made claims of closeness to Indian politicians, foreign delegates, bureaucrats and media representatives, with the aim of gaining public sympathy and popularity.

The case was scheduled for hearing in the Delhi High Court before a bench comprising Justice Naveen Chawla and Justice Ravindra Dudeja. However, Yasin Malik informed the court that he did not receive the NIA’s response, due to which the proceedings could not be completed.

During the hearing, Special Public Prosecutor Akshay Malik, along with Advocate Khawar Saleem, was representing the NIA, while Yasin Malik himself is pursuing his case in court.

The court has adjourned the hearing of the case until July to hear arguments regarding the enhancement of the sentence, where the parties will present their final arguments.

This case is not only legally but also politically important, on which further developments are expected in the coming months.
