Trump announces three-week extension of ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel

US President Donald Trump has announced that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has been extended by three weeks.

In a message on Truth Social, he said that the development came after a meeting between Israeli and Lebanese officials in the Oval Office.

The meeting was also attended by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In his announcement, Trump called the meeting “very successful.”

“The United States will work with Lebanon to help it secure itself from Hezbollah,” he wrote.

Trump said that it was a “great honor” to attend this “very historic meeting.” He also said that he looked forward to hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in the future.
