A serious incident of alleged torture of a minor girl has come to light in Poonch district of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, on which the police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim girl Fatima Bibi.
The incident took place on April 26, 2026, in the village of Sangula, located about 15 kilometers away, within the limits of the City Rawalakot police station, where a 15-year-old girl was allegedly tortured.
The petitioner, the victim girl Fatima Bibi, took the stand in a written application given to the police that she is a student of a madrassa, who had contact with her cousin Adnan a year ago.
According to the application, on April 12, the girl’s father came to know about the phone calls, upon which he became extremely angry and allegedly threatened to harm Adnan by taking a weapon.
According to the FIR, after bringing the girl back home, the father took her to a room. The room was locked and allegedly tortured. The girl was forced to call Adnan. When Adnan arrived, he was also allegedly beaten up and later accused of pulling the girl’s toenails. The girl’s initial dressing was done at home in her injured state.
The petition also states that other members of the house were thrown out during the incident, while the girl’s cousin later helped her.
The petitioner, the victim girl, has demanded that justice be provided to her and legal action be taken against the named accused.
According to the police, a case has been registered in the incident and the accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
Officials say that action will be taken as per the law in the light of the evidence.
