The civil court of Thorad in Pakistani Kashmir has sentenced the accused to 6 years in prison and a fine of 1 million rupees while pronouncing the verdict in the case of attempted rape of an 11-year-old girl.
The court of Civil Judge Thorad Syed Hasnain Ali pronounced the verdict in the case on Thursday, May 6, 2026, in which Obaid Shoaib son of Muhammad Shoaib, resident of Patan Sher Khan, was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of 1 million rupees upon being found guilty.
According to the court verdict, the accused was convicted under Section APC (3) and Section 377. The trial of the case has been going on for more than 15 months.
According to reports, this case was first heard in the criminal court of Sidhanoti district, but the verdict was later pronounced in the Thorad court.
In its verdict, the court stated that the crime was proved on the basis of evidence and records, after which the sentence was awarded.
