Jammu & Kashmir: Arrested Students Released, Wheel-Jam and Shutdown Strike Called Off

Poonch Division, Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (Pak-administered) – The wheel-jam and shutter-down strike across Poonch Division has been called off following the release of detained students.

The strike had been announced by the Awami Action Committee Poonch, which demanded the unconditional release of the arrested students.

Throughout the night, protestors voluntarily blocked roads, traders kept their shops closed, and all institutions across Poonch Division remained shut in protest. Demonstrations and sit-ins were held in multiple locations, with citizens expressing outrage over the arrests.

After the administration released the detained students, Awami Action Committee leader Umar Nazir announced an end to the strike.

He urged traders to reopen their shops and transporters to resume services, formally declaring the wheel-jam and shutter-down protest concluded.
