State brutality continues in Kashmir, Action Committee announces to maintain call for long march on June 9

According to reports received from various sources regarding the ongoing protest sit-in in Rawalakot city of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, the situation remained extremely tense last night.

Protest circles claim that security forces took action against the participants of the peaceful sit-in, as a result of which several people were reported to have been killed and injured. However, these claims could not be fully confirmed by independent sources, while detailed figures were not released even at the official level.

According to protest leaders, despite the action, the protesters are not ready to give up their demands and they have reiterated their determination to continue the movement.

The participants of the sit-in say that they will continue the protest until their demands are achieved despite all kinds of pressure and use of force.

On the other hand, there is an atmosphere of intense grief and anger among the public after the incidents that took place in Rawalakot and other areas. Reports of protest activities and public gatherings are being received from different areas while a large number of citizens are expressing solidarity with the affected families.

The Joint Public Action Committee, in its latest statement, has announced to maintain the protest call given on June 9 and appealed to the people to be a part of the movement peacefully and unite to achieve their demands. The overall situation in the area is said to remain tense while the eyes of the people and the administration are focused on the progress in the next few days.
