In Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, the chairman of the Jammu Kashmir People’s National Party and former bar president Wajid Ali Advocate has said in a statement that the current movement for public rights has been going on peacefully for the past three years. According to him, during this entire period, the protesting people have shown patience, restraint and responsibility.
He said that no government building was damaged, no public or private property was damaged and no violence was resorted to.
He said that the people are only demanding their fundamental rights, justice, employment, education, health and a better way of life, which are considered the fundamental rights of citizens in every civilized society.
Wajid Ali Advocate has said that despite this, the Pakistani establishment and government institutions are using force against unarmed and peaceful citizens.
He said that many people have lost their lives as a result of firing and crackdowns, while many others have been injured.
According to him, this situation is very sad and due to this there is a lot of anger and resentment among the people.
He clarified that this is not a war against any country but a struggle for basic human and democratic rights.
He said that if the state, instead of listening to the voice of the people, chooses the path of force, coercion and violence and puts more pressure on the people, the situation can become more complicated.
He warned that if this war is imposed on the people, they will be forced to fight it till the end, while the responsibility of avoiding such a situation lies with the state and the relevant institutions.
The Chairman Jammu Kashmir People’s National Party called on the Pakistani state and relevant institutions to wake up, stop the use of force and alleged violations of human rights, listen seriously to political and public demands and find solutions to problems through dialogue and justice.
He said that coercion and violence can never be a permanent solution to public problems, while peace, justice and respect for public rights are the only guarantee of stability and prosperity in the region.
