Bagh/Kashgil Investigation Report
Facts have come to light regarding the alleged kidnapping and torture of Sardar Nasir Arbab, General Secretary of Anjuman Tajran Arbab, in Arja tehsil of Bagh district of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
It is being claimed from reliable sources and local level investigations that Sardar Nasir Arbab was allegedly kidnapped a few days ago by 15 to 20 armed men dressed in civilian clothes, tortured him and later left him in a nearby area.
According to sources, after the incident, the administration forces and some quarters tried to give the impression that the workers of the Joint Public Action Committee were involved behind the attack. However, local sources say that Sardar Nasir Arbab himself is an active member of the Public Action Committee and is considered one of the important figures of the movement.
Sources further claim that various types of pressure and alleged blackmail were applied by the administration and forces to separate them from the movement, but upon refusal, they were allegedly subjected to torture and later an attempt was made to blame the incident on the Public Action Committee.
During the investigation, some sources have also claimed that people associated with different forces have been deployed in different areas with civilian clothes and weapons, with the alleged aim of targeting activists associated with the movement, torturing them and later blaming the incidents on the Public Action Committee so that the movement can be defamed and create fear and panic among the people.
On the other hand, the active members of the Public Action Committee Arja have said in the context of all these claims that their movement is completely peaceful, constitutional and is continuing to achieve public demands.
They said that such alleged tactics are being used to defame the movement and intimidate the workers, which they strongly condemn.
