The Iranian military has claimed to have targeted US military bases and key installations in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water says that as a result of the Iranian attack, a fire has broken out at a power plant and desalination plant in the country, and several power generating units have stopped working.
According to the ministry, efforts are underway to control the fire and repair the affected facilities.
Earlier, a statement issued by the Kuwaiti military’s X account said that the Kuwaiti air defense system is currently countering enemy missiles and drone attacks in response to the Iranian attack.
The statement said that if explosions are heard, they will be the result of the air defense system destroying enemy targets.
Authorities have appealed to the public to follow the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant agencies.
The Iranian military has claimed that in the 15th phase of Operation Shine, suicide drones targeted aircraft, military installations and fuel depots at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
The Iranian military’s statement also claimed that “drone attacks were also carried out on several bridges in Bahrain.”
On the other hand, the Jordanian military has announced that the country’s air defense system has destroyed 10 Iranian missiles that entered the country’s airspace.
According to the Jordanian military’s statement, these missiles were coming towards Jordanian territory, but the air defense system took timely action and shot them down.
The statement said that there were no casualties as a result of these attacks, nor were any financial or material losses reported.
