A protest demonstration and candlelight vigil were organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) outside 10 Downing Street in Westminster, London. The purpose of the demonstration was to condemn the deaths of civilians in the Pakistani airstrikes in the Sorab area of ​​Balochistan and to pay tribute to the victims.
According to the protesters, civilians, including women, children and the elderly, were killed in the Pakistani airstrikes in Sorab on August 12. During the protest, the participants lit candles to express solidarity with the affected families, while demanding a transparent investigation into the deaths and holding those responsible accountable from the international community.
On this occasion, BNM UK Chapter President Manzoor Baloch said in his address that the main purpose of the protest is to inform the international community about the grave situation in Balochistan. He said that a sustainable solution to the ongoing tension in the region lies in recognizing the right of the Baloch nation to independence.
Niaz Baloch, Coordinator of the Foreign Affairs Department of the BNM, urged the international community to take immediate notice of the human rights situation in Balochistan. He demanded that financial and military aid provided to Pakistan be strictly monitored so that these resources are not used against civilians.
