The death toll and missing in Nepal and Tibet continues to rise after devastating flash floods that struck nine days ago. According to the latest figures, a total of 1,301 people have died in the two regions, while 5,339 are still missing.
According to the latest report from the Nepali police, the death toll in the country has reached 1,280, while 4,798 people are still unaccounted for.
On the other hand, officials in Tibet said in a press conference yesterday that the death toll there has risen to 21, while 541 people are still missing.
According to officials, hundreds of foreign nationals from at least 34 different countries are also among the missing, due to which the tragedy has become the center of international attention.
Meanwhile, rescue operations are continuing in Nepal. Rescue operations are underway in at least six tunnels of various hydropower projects, where more than 150 people are feared trapped.
Rescue teams are racing against time to search for missing people and extract possible survivors.
It may be recalled that on Friday, two workers were pulled out alive from the tunnel of the Trishuli 3A hydropower project after nine days, after which a new wave of hope has also arisen among the families of other trapped people.
