BLF’s ‘Operation Almas’ Underway in Gwadar: Attacks on Military Camps; Several SSG Personnel, Including a Captain, Killed

In the coastal and strategic city of Gwadar, Balochistan, the Baloch armed organization, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), has launched a major military offensive dubbed ‘Operation Almas.’ Intermittent intense clashes and explosions are occurring across various parts of the city, targeting military installations, check posts, and key thoroughfares.

According to statements issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gahram Baloch, the organization’s fighters (sarmachars) targeted the main camp of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) at Gwadar Zero Point on October 22, 2026, in a large-scale, coordinated assault. The operation involves fedayeen (self-sacrificing fighters) and sarmachars from the BLF’s specialized ‘Sado Operation Battalion’ (SOB) and other units. The organization has also released an official poster for this operation.

During the operation, the BLF has released several audio recordings and videos from the battlefield.

The organization states that a fedai fighter, Mujahid Mehar, alias ‘Zamran’ (Sagar Zamrani), carried out the attack by ramming an explosives-laden vehicle into the military camp. This was followed by intense explosions and gunfire both inside and around the camp.

The BLF has also released an audio recording of a female fedai fighter named ‘Almas,’ after whom this operation has been named. In the audio, she informs the operation commander that several enemy personnel have been killed, darkness has fallen, and the Baloch nation should take an active part in this war.

In other released audio clips, sarmachars (Baloch fighters) report to their operational commander that they are all safe, and that the national flag of the BLF has been hoisted at the military camp. Sounds of intense gunfire and explosions can be heard in the background of these recordings.

According to the BLF, during the operations, the fighters took control of the Mazani police station and a police checkpoint at Gabd Cross, seizing the military and government weaponry found there. The organization claims that a captain from Military Intelligence (MI) and several personnel from the Special Services Group (SSG) were killed during the clashes. Additionally, a military convoy was targeted in the Gabd area, resulting in the destruction of a vehicle. Furthermore, transport vehicles were set on fire at various locations across the city.

Following the persistent explosions and gunfire in Gwadar, panic has spread among the residents, prompting many to move toward safer locations. Meanwhile, in Quetta, after the session of the Balochistan Assembly was cut short due to the unfolding situation, provincial ministers and assembly members headed to the press gallery to seek information from journalists regarding the ground realities and the latest updates. As of the time of publication, there has been no official confirmation or denial from Pakistan’s military leadership, the Government of Pakistan, or the district administration regarding any change in control within parts of Gwadar, the seizure of camps, or casualties; however, security across the city has been placed on high alert, and strict blockades have been implemented.
