The cycle of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings continues unabated in Balochistan. In the latest incidents, a young man has been forcibly disappeared from an area in the Kech district, while the body of another youth—who had been taken into custody three days earlier—has been recovered.
Adam Akram, a 24-year-old shopkeeper and resident of the Shay Tagraghana area in Kech district, has been forcibly disappeared by the Frontier Corps (FC).
According to the BYC (Baloch Yakjehti Committee), Adam Akram was taken into custody near an FC check post in the Shay Tagraghana area of Turbat around 3:00 AM on the night of August 9, 2026. He was subsequently moved to an unknown location, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Adeel Baloch, a resident of the Tump (Kohaar) area in Kech district, had been taken into custody by the Pakistani Army and a “death squad” during a raid in the Kohaar Bazaar. Three other young men were also detained alongside him and taken to an unknown location.
After being missing for just three days, Adeel Baloch’s body was recovered from Sarankan, Kech, on October 23, 2026.
According to the BYC, this incident—involving a death while in custody and the subsequent discovery of a body—indicates that forcibly disappeared individuals are being subjected to severe torture and extrajudicial execution.
The BYC has demanded an immediate, impartial judicial inquiry into this incident and has called for those responsible to be brought to justice.
