A spokesperson for the Jammu Kashmir Peoples National Party (JKPNP) stated that the manner in which the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are being besieged and targeted—specifically through attacks carried out by security forces in Rawalakot, Bagh, and Sudhnoti—is profoundly inhumane and condemnable.
Describing the incident in the Pandi area of southern Bagh—where a house was destroyed by an explosion, resulting in the deaths of everyone inside—as an egregious example of state brutality, the spokesperson remarked that targeting individuals ranging from eight-year-old children to 80-year-old elders constitutes a blatant violation of all humanitarian principles.
The statement further noted that the entire Poonch Division has been placed under siege, leaving the civilian population gripped by intense fear, panic, and a profound sense of insecurity.
Expressing deep concern over these developments, the party warned that if these operations are not halted immediately, the situation could escalate into a mass slaughter.
The spokesperson demanded an immediate end to military operations and the killing of civilians, the lifting of the siege on the Poonch Division, and a peaceful, political resolution to the issue—one that acknowledges the legitimate and democratic demands of the people.
