Prime Minister’s Potential Visit: Attempt to Create an Appearance of Normalcy in Rawalakot; Sit-ins Continue

In Pakistan-administered Kashmir, peaceful sit-ins organized by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) continue in the city of Rawalakot and various other locations, with the public remaining steadfast in their core demands. Today marks the 150th day of this historic public protest and series of sit-ins, which began on June 6.

According to sources, in anticipation of a potential visit by the Prime Minister to Rawalakot today, the administration and state authorities are forcibly compelling the reopening of certain schools, colleges, and shops. The objective appears to be to project an image of restored normalcy and routine life in the city, both for local and international observers.

Meanwhile, for the third consecutive day, strict blockades and rigorous security checks remain in place along the border and on all routes leading into and out of the area, causing severe hardship for ordinary citizens.
