Alarming Surge in Pakistan’s National Debt Over the Past Year

Concerning data regarding Pakistan’s economy has emerged, revealing a significant increase of 6,210 billion rupees in the nation’s public debt over the past year.

According to financial reports and official statistics, this rise has pushed the country’s total debt from 84.7 trillion rupees to over 90.9 trillion rupees.

Economists note that this represents a 7.3 percent year-on-year increase in the debt burden—a figure that underscores the country’s precarious economic situation, a widening fiscal deficit, and the mounting pressure of debt servicing.

Economic analysts warn that this ever-growing mountain of debt threatens to further exacerbate inflation and intensify the financial challenges facing the country.
