Iran’s new supreme leader vows to close Strait of Hormuz, avenge every Iranian’s blood

Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has made his first public statement on state TV, in which he called for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and said that “the blood of all Iranians killed, including the schoolchildren of Minab, will be avenged.”

Iran’s state television has broadcast the first public statement by Mojtaba Khamenei as the new supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The message was read out by a state TV host.

In his message, he said, “I learned about the Assembly of Experts’ decision to elect me through the state TV of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Referring to Iran’s war with the US and Israel, he called for Iran’s continued countermeasures and said, “Studies have been made about opening other fronts against the enemy where it has less experience and may prove to be extremely weak. If the war situation persists, action will be taken on these fronts, taking into account the country’s interests.”

In part of his message, Mojtaba Khamenei thanked the resistance front in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the resistance forces in Iraq.

In his first message, he mentioned the losses suffered by the country and said, “We will recover compensation from the enemy.” If he refuses, we will inflict similar damage on the enemy’s property and destroy it.’

He mentioned the attacks on US military bases in the countries of the region and said, ‘As we had warned earlier, we did not attack these countries but only targeted the US bases there and we will be forced to do so in the future as well. Despite this, we consider friendship with our neighboring countries essential.’
