The three-day annual festival of the world’s third largest and historic “Hinglaj Mata Nani Mandir” of Hinduism, located in the rugged mountain range of Hingol, about 150 kilometers from Uthal, the headquarters of Lasbela district of Balochistan, concluded with all the pomp and ceremony.
This year, a record 200,000 Hindu devotees and pilgrims from all over Balochistan and Pakistan participated in the festival, which is a unique example of interfaith harmony and devotion.
Ration bags and other essential items were distributed to deserving pilgrims by the PDMA.
Deputy Commissioner Lasbela Humira Baloch and SSP Najibullah Pindrani were personally present at the festival and supervised all administrative and security matters. Security forces were deployed to protect the pilgrims and provided foolproof security.
Out of humanitarian sympathy, free medical camps were set up by Pakistan Coast Guards, PPHI and Health Department Lasbela. Where expert doctors and lady doctors examined hundreds of pilgrims and provided free medicines.
There was a 24-hour “Bhandare” (langar) for the pilgrims under the auspices of Shri Hinglaj Mata Welfare Mandali, where food, cold water, syrup and tea were being provided without interruption.
The office bearers of the Mandali, including President Mukhi Vinod Kumar Lasi, General Secretary Virasi Mal Kediwani, Dr. Tola Ram Lasi and Spokesperson Prakash Kumar Lasi along with hundreds of other volunteers were busy serving the pilgrims day and night.
Talking to the media, Spokesperson Prakash Kumar Lasi said that thousands of devotees from different cities of Sindh province travel on foot for several days in the scorching heat to attend the Mata’s court and get their wishes fulfilled.
He said that the record increase in the number of pilgrims is a testament to their deep attachment to this holy place.
During the fair, various political and social figures also visited the temple and participated in the puja pat.
These included Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s central leader, former MPA Balochistan Mukhi Sham Lal Lasi, Sindh Governor’s Coordinator Vishal Pilani and Provincial Assembly Member Sanjay Kumar, among other important figures.
Hundreds of stalls were set up in the fair where religious relics, badges and traditional items were being sold. After performing the holy rituals, the pilgrims left for their respective areas, praying for the fulfillment of their wishes.
