On the completion of a year of the military operations against Pakistan, which India had named “Operation Sindoor”, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday, “We are as steadfast as ever in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its support system.”
He said in his statement, “India has given a befitting reply to those who dared to attack innocent Indians in Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes the valor of our forces.”
On the other hand, Indian military officials have said in their press conference that “Operation Sindoor does not represent an end but rather a sign of the beginning of a new strategic resolve,” while Pakistani officials claimed that “we defeated an enemy five times larger than us in a multi-domain war, established deterrence and changed the angle of the war.”
Representatives of the armies of both countries also resorted to sarcasm on the occasion. Where on one side, the DG ISPR While the Indian Army was being ‘politicized’ and given ‘good entertainment’ by the Indian media, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, while responding to a question about the promotion of Army Chief Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal, said, ‘What can we say about it? We took it as entertainment.’
Indian military officials also spoke on the occasion regarding Pakistan’s relations with China and Turkey.
Pakistan Army’s Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Tariq Ghazi has claimed that ‘in the war of truth, eight aircraft including four Indian Rafale aircraft were shot down. Therefore, we can say that our score is 8-0.’
He further claimed that ‘in the war of truth, one Su-30, one MiG-29, one Mirage aircraft and a very expensive multi-role drone were also shot down.’
On the other hand, Indian Air Marshal Udayesh Kumar Bharti said that ‘During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan’s “11 airfields were damaged while 13 aircraft were shot down. All this was done while ensuring that no Indian civilian or military infrastructure was harmed.”
