ISPR confirms killing of 5 Pakistani Army personnel including a major in Balochistan

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army has confirmed the killing of 5 Pakistani Army personnel including a major in Balochistan.

In a statement, the ISPR claimed that on the morning of May 13, 2026, the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps Balochistan troops launched a search and sanitization operation against militants in the Nausham area of ​​Barkhan district.

The statement claimed that ‘during the operation, security forces tracked down a group of militants and targeted them. 7 militants were killed in the exchange of fire. Arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the militants during the operation.

A statement issued by the ISPR, confirming the incident, said that the killed personnel included Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti, Lines Naik Fida Hussain, Sepoy Zakir Hussain, Sepoy Sohail Ahmed and Sepoy Muhammad Ayaz.

According to the ISPR, sanitization operations are still underway to eliminate more possible militants in the area.

In a statement issued to the media, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Prior to this incident, two people were injured in a landmine explosion in the newly formed Upper Dera Bugti district of Balochistan, adjacent to Barkhane.
